Are you a Filipino immigrant about to leave for Australian Canada, Italy, Japan, New Zealand or the United States? Then you need to register for the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar. Here’s everything you need to know about the Reservation and Registration (R&R) system for the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS.

No appointment required* for the following:

Senior citizens (60 years old or older)
Persons with medical conditions (PWD ID or medical certificate required)
Minor children (12 years old or younger)

If you any of the above, you may use the Priority Lane at the Commission on Filipinos Overseas CFO office in Manila and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas CFO office in Cebu.

*If you are any of the above, you do not need to book an online appointment. However, you will still need to register online before going to the CFO office.

There is no cost for attending the PDOS. The use of third party representatives or fixers are strongly discouraged. The CFO will not be responsible for any payments made to such third party representatives or fixers.

Do not make travel arrangements before attending PDOS. You will not be issued an Exit Clearance if you do not attend the PDOS.

The CFO will not be responsible for any costs incurred as a result of failing to attend the PDOS.

RESERVATION & REGISTRATION (R&R) PDOS

Are you moving to another country permanently?

If you are leaving the Philippines to immigrate to another country, chances are you’ll need to attend the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS).

WHAT IS THE PRE-DEPARTURE ORIENTATION SEMINAR?

Filipinos who are leaving the Philippines to immigrate to another country are required to register with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas CFO.

Filipino immigrants will be required to attend the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS (for Filipino immigrants 20 years old or older) or the Peer Counseling Session (for Filipino immigrants from 13 years old to 19 years old).

Filipino immigrants younger than 13 years old and older than 59 years old are exempted from attending the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS and the Peer Counseling Session.

Topics covered by the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS will include international travel rules and regulations, immigration laws, cultural and societal differences, as well as settlement issues such as education and employment.

Filipino immigrants must register online through the Commission on Filipinos Overseas CFO’s Reservation & Registration R&R system.

PDOS REQUIREMENTS

You do not need to bring photocopies of the requirements.

You do not need to bring ID photos.

Please bring the following original (and valid) documents:

1) Philippine Passport
2) Immigrant Visa
3) Photo identification
4) Country-specific documents:
Australia: Visa Grant Notification Letter
Canada: Certificate of Permanent Residency COPR
Italy: Nulla Osta
Japan: Certificate of Eligibility
New Zealand: Letter of Approval for Work to Residence Visa
United States of America: Immigrant Data Summary* *except for K Visa

CFO STICKER

After attending the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS or the Peer Counseling Session, a sticker will be placed on the Filipino immigrant’s passport.

You will need to show this sticker to the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation BID officer at the airport before being granted an Exit Clearance to leave the Philippines.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE

After providing your valid email address, you will receive an email asking a number of questions to determine if you need to attend the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS.

You will be asked to choose the schedule for your Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS.

Remember, there are limited slots available for each Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS.

You will need a digital copy of a recent ID photo. You’ll have to upload this photo and provide some personal information.

A link to the confirmation code will be provided, please print out the confirmation code bearing a unique barcode.

Bring the print out of the confirmation code together with all other requirements.

PDOS EXEMPTIONS

The following individuals are exempt from taking the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS:

Senior citizens (60 years old or older)
Persons with medical conditions (PWD ID or medical certificate required)
Minor children (12 years old or younger)

PDOS REGISTRATION USING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE

If you are using an authorized representative to register for the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar PDOS, they must present the following:

Medical Certificate for person with medical condition
Letter of Authorization from Filipino immigrant
Valid photo ID of representative
Notarized authorization letter executed by parents or guardians (for minors, if parents or guardians are overseas)
