Canadian employers in the province of Yukon can apply to the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) to hire Filipino workers when their companies are unable to fill permanent full time positions with Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
The Government of Yukon does not recruit of Filipino workers for Canadian employers.
Canadian employers from must first seek approval from the Government of Yukon to hire Filipino workers.
Filipino workers can bring their spouse or common law partners as well as their qualified dependent children who are under the age of 18 to live with them in Yukon.
Spouses and common law partners as well as qualified dependent children must all meet the minimum requirements of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Filipino workers cannot apply under the YNP if they have a current refugee application with IRCC.
Filipino workers also cannot apply under the YNP if they do not have a valid job offer in the province of Yukon.
HOW TO APPLY
- Find out which YNP nomination stream you can apply to
- Make sure that you meet the minimum eligibility requirements
- Submit your application to the YNP
The Government of Yukon will nominate qualified Filipino workers to the Government of Canada for permanent residency.
The nomination will allow Filipino workers to submit an application for permanent residency for themselves as well as their qualified dependents under the YNP.
The Government of Canada will then process the permanent residency application.
The Government of Canada makes the final decision to grant permanent residency, not the Government of Yukon.
DO YOU NEED TO HIRE AN IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT OR LAWYER?
Filipino workers don’t need to hire immigration consultants or lawyers to apply under the YNP.
Before you choose to hire an immigration consultant or lawyer, you should know that everything you need (including application forms) is available online at the official Government of Yukon website.
Hiring immigration consultants or lawyers does not improve you chances at a successful application.
Immigration consultants and lawyers cannot guarantee a successful application.
The Government of Yukon does not have any special arrangements with any immigration consultants or lawyers.
Immigration consultants and lawyers need to have an Authority to Release form signed by the Filipino worker to be able to transact with the Government of Yukon.
You can get a copy to the Authority to Release form by email or telephone.
