The Philippine Overseas Labour Office (POLO) in Vancouver, is encouraging Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Canada can apply for the Government of Canada‘s latest round of COVID-19 cash aid.
Representatives from POLO Vancouver said that OFWs can apply for the new cash aid programs, including the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB).
CANADA RECOVERY BENEFIT (CRB)
The Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) provides income support for individuals who have been directly affected by COVID-19 and are not eligible Employment Insurance (EI).
Eligible individuals can receive up to CAD$1,000.00 before taxes every two weeks (for up to 26 weeks).
The CRB is available from September 27, 2020 to September 25, 2021.

CANADA RECOVERY SICKNESS BENEFIT (CRSB)
The Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB) provides income support to individuals who are unable to work because they are sick or require isolation because of COVID-19. Individuals who have underlying health conditions that put them at greater risk of COVID-19 are also eligible to apply for the CRSB.
Eligible individuals can receive up to CAD$500.00 before taxes for a one week period (for up to two weeks).
The CRSB is available from September 27, 2020 to September 25, 2021.

CANADA RECOVERY CAREGIVING BENEFIT (CRCB)
The Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB) provides income support to individuals unable to work because they have to take care of relatives (including children under 12 years old) who require supervised care.
Children under 12 years old whose school or childcare facility is closed due to COVID-19, or if they are under quarantine or are at risk from COVID-19 due to serious health complications.
Eligible individuals can receive up to CAD$500.00 every week (for up to 26 weeks).
The CRCB is available from September 27, 2020 to September 25, 2021.

Employment Insurance (EI) provides temporary income support for unemployed individuals while they are looking for work or upgrading their skills.
EI is also available to individuals who take time off from work for specific reasons, including illnesses, pregnancies, caring for newborns or recently adopted children, critically ill or injured relatives.
To receive EI, individuals must have paid premiums for the previous year in order to apply.
